Victory. 3 days in the wild is enough to bond us.
I've been busy lately. Its almost the peak season for NDP with huge demand for changes and actions. And from there, I see all kinds of attitude, people with different character - more colourful than the lightings display or fireworks effect.
Today, I was almost drained out, working since 0730 (sat) to 1230 (sun). And I've to wake up early for sunday class. God!
Sometimes I've been asking myself, what am I here for? What am I longing for? What do I want? What do I want to achieve? I can't figure out either. Its like I'm working aimlessly, without a target to meet, well, for the moment its ORD. But still clueless of what lies ahead. Really beginning to hate it and this last 2 months seems to be so slow moving.
Jas told me, its just part of the package when we are still in Army. He experienced that before, I supposed. Perhaps, everyone.
Hope you guys will have a great week ahead. I will be back soon with more updates.

Feel like Jacuzzi-ing?

posted by tristan @ 6/18/2007 11:46:00 PM

Went over to Fangliang's private apartment last friday. Its such a lovely place, though the room was quite small, but the main purpose for that day was to soak in the jaccuzi and have lovely cheesecakes (to fulfil Jan and Fan's craving for cheesecake, i made 1 specially for them) with sparkling juice. Totally relaxing....

Fan! My forever cranky buddy in Polytechnic. Life would be so bored without her, coz we are always on the move telling lame and cold jokes! We can just entertain ourselves with a fork alone!

And Fangliang's "don't know how many inch" LCD TV that works like a computer monitor. Its huge! Look at my personal blog, its have since EXPANDED! lolx

Saying "I love you"

posted by tristan @ 6/15/2007 01:33:00 PM

I think 1 negative thing about asian is that we dare not express our love to our dearest family members well. Ask yourself how many times do we give our parents a hug, how many times do we say "I love you mum" or "I love you dad". Its this simple gestures that warms them, but I believe they will feel a bit awkward at the end of the day. Its only when we are about to lose them, we start to find that time is running out. We doesn't have enough time to pay them the love they once gave. Here's a true story that I encounter today and I think I should really share it with everyone. Almost like a drama...

Leonard, 20, is my junior in camp. Always cheerful, hyper and hippy. However, lately I've seen the really downside of him. I remembered he once look for me to tell him some of his personal relationship problems and often seek advice. However, on Wednesday, he was extremely down. Right after lunch, he told me that he wanted to break up with his girlfriend because he doesn't feel the love exist anymore. However, I adviced him to hang in there for a couple of days, as I believe no relationship is perfect in this world. There bound to be the down side of it, and I perceived its just a stage he is experiencing now.

This morning, once again I see his swollen eyes. I believe he cried last night. A pad on his back, "How are you feeling today?" I asked. He shook his head, didn't mention a single word. I went for my run with my kakis and he was playing basketball with others. After the run, he went missing and I heard he hurt his eyes while playing the game. Immediately, I went up to bunk to check on his condition. I see him lying in bed, covering his eyes with his hands. I saw him sniffing and sobbing away in tears. Where's the hyper and cheerful L that I used to see? He cried endlessly, finally letting out that he broke up with his girlfriend previous night and his mum's is suffering from cancer for quite sometime. Lately it seems to relapse and may only have 2 - 3 years more to live. He told me "我很爱我的妈妈,而且我真得很需要她,可是为么...” (I really love my mum and I really need her, but why?) A question that I can't answer. To me, his world seems to have collapse all at once. It sure pains to see him cried this way. My heart sank and seems to be tearing inside with him too. Its just too much for a 20 year old boy to withstand every single blow, moreover, he's the only child. My words for him is that he have to remain strong, because right now, his mum needs him not vice-versa. His mum wouldn't be happy to see a tearing child every single day. At least give his mum an assurance that he will live strong and happy, even without her presence. Alot still depend on him, what I can do as a friend or as a sergeant is to give him the moral support he needs, give him 101% attention and listening ears he needs. Still, he holds the key to walk out of this darkness.

Treasure them, before you lose them for good.

An eventful day, almost speechless.

Happy Birthday

posted by tristan @ 6/14/2007 10:48:00 PM

Happy Birthday to SPLISH SPLASH!

My blog turns 3 on 11th June 2007. It fast isn't it? Been 3 years already! I discovered blogger when I was an intern back during my polytechnic days. Blog during office hours and after office hours - about anything under the sun. Sometimes a quick look back at the way I blog, reminds me of a childish and naive me. Maybe I haven't changed a single bit, still as childish and 孩子气 . Its just ME! Some friends said I never grow up, still like a child fooling around in camp everyday. Getting crazier as ORD date draws nearer.

I seriously think having an online diary is healthy. Keep my friends updated of my well-being, at least still in touch through the lousiest mean of communcation channel.

I believe there's more to come, at least, I will try my very best to keep this personal page alive and going.

NDP 2007

posted by tristan @ 6/10/2007 08:13:00 PM

3 more months to go and NDP will somehow be a finale to sum up the NS experience for this 2 years since September 2005. I'm really glad to be given this rare opportunity to be in the Props Management team. Although its not a full dress rehearsal last night, but its promising - exciting and awesome. Here are some shots taken yesterday:

longest yawn ever

posted by tristan @ 6/09/2007 10:42:00 AM

(-0-) Finally the stupid 2 weeks course have come to an end. Went outfield since Wednesday till yesterday and I only had like 6 hours of sleep for 2 days (an hour for wed night and 5 hrs for thurs). However, though I slept at 1a.m last night, I automatically woke up at 745a.m. Seems like my body is tune and I'm feeling lazy and draggy.

Going for NDP later.

涙そうそう

posted by tristan @ 6/03/2007 11:10:00 AM

Been wanting to catch this movie since March, and now its already June. Thus, decided to sign up for FREE at Crunchyroll (where you can watch endless Asian movies like Youtube). Watched 涙そうそう last night. Its another fantastic Japanese movie. I'm not sure if the storyline is adapted from a true story, but its a definite must watch. I've yet to catch Pirates. 1 more hell week before i'm free.
